The Cajun Candle Factory - Review
The Cajun Candle Factory is one of my favourite suppliers! It is run by owner Mike Kloesel with his fiancé Pamela and their wonderfully helpful staff who always go out of their way for customers. I stock a large number of fragrances from this company and will never hesitate to contact them when I need a scent fix! Their customer service is outstanding, my orders always arrive promptly and well packaged, and the quality of the product speaks for itself.
Amber Romance - This is nice!!!!!!! - very intriguing. At first it smells quite sweet and creamy, but there is an undertone of low amber notes.
Apple Strudel - A great spiced apple fragrance with an awesome scent throw. You won't be disappointed.
Banana Nut Bread - This is terrific. I've tried a BNB scent before from another supplier that I really didn't care for at all --- too nutty for my poor fruit loving nose, so I opened Cajun's BNB with great trepidation!!! -- WOAH I love it!!! Very light on the nut - the focus of the scent is more banana than nut... just how I like it!!
Bay Rum - WOAH that first sniff from the bottle is REALLY strong!!!! You can really smell the rum!!!!
Blueberry - This is a superb blueberry that has an amazing scent throw in both paraffin and gel wax. I do not need to use a full ounce of fragrance oil to a pound of wax with this scent.
Bridal Bouquet - If it makes sense at all I would describe this as an oriental type spicy floral - it smells very exotic!!! This will make lovely wedding candles.
Carnation - A very true, strong carnation. Just like standing in a flower shop!
Cherry - This smells more a "black" cherry than a "red cherry", with an almondy undertone. Great scent throw.
Christmas Memories - A seasonal scent that is very popular. A pear base with tones of cloves and spices. Excellent scent throw that fills the room in minutes. I sell out of this at every show around Christmas time.
Christmas Tree - Another excellent seasonal scent that smells like fresh cut Christmas Trees. A very strong fragrance.
Chocolate Supreme - This scent is heavenly!!!! If you are a die hard chocoholic then you simply can't go wrong with this scent!
Cinnamon - *Very* strong cinnamon scent. I have not found it to work well with red liquid dyes - it comes out a fuschia pink no matter how much dye I use, so I use tan colour which works very well. It is an excellent scent with an amazing throw.
Cinnamon Buns - Cinnamon and vanilla. It is not too spicy and very vanillary .... gorgeous smelling. I *love* this one!
Coconut - Light a candle made with this fragrance, close your eyes and imagine you are in the tropics supping coconut alcofolic *hic* delights!!! This is a wonderful coconut scent.
Cola - WOW!!!! it actually even SMELLS fizzy and is just like cola!!
Coral Delight - Also known as pomegranate. It is a hard to describe fragrance .... sweet, creamy and *very* nice!!! It smells like something I would be addicted to eating!!! A popular fragrance for my customers.
Cucumber-Ivy - A very unusual mix of fragrances that works very well. It is fresh, green and throws scent very well. You get the ivy smell after the first initial sniff of cucumber.
Eucalyptus - You really have to burn this to appreciate it. I wasn't impressed with the "sniffy out the bottle" smell - but get it made up into wax and it is very good!
Hazlenut Coffee OH MY WORD! You have to try this!! - It is like they have taken a coffee bean and extracted the smell and mixed it with just the right amount of nuttiness. I don't like overpoweringly nutty fragrances, and there is just a hint of nut to it! I am definitely one of the world's biggest coffee snobs, so coffee scents have to be good for me to even think about stocking it!! This definitely passes the test!
Honeydew Melon - Mouth-watering ... made me suddenly start craving melons! It's light and refreshing. Talk about drool! This is a very very clean and fresh scent. Anyone looking for a good honeydew won't be disappointed here.Very very good!!
Lavender - A recent scent for Cajun is their lavender. It is a nice strong lavender fragrance.
Lemon Chiffon - Ohhh out of this world - lemon and vanilla - A *very very* nice creamy lemon.
Lemon Drop - This is a really tart sharp lemon. Very citrus!!!!!!! I can almost taste it ... no wait, I got the bottle too close to my mouth and I AM tasting it! LOL mental note, don't sniff too close :-)
Lilac - This isn't a scent I've stocked before ... lilac is a really nice, soft floral. I like this a lot!!!!!
Linen & Lace - Ooooh like fresh laundry laying out on a bed of sweet blooms!!!!!
Magnolia - A true Magnolia scent. A very light smelling fragrance that has a terrific scent throw.
Mulberry - This is not one of the fragrances that appeals to my nose, but it has proved very popular with my customers over the last season I have been stocking it. It is strong, not sweet but not sour and the scent fills a room in minutes.
Oatmeal raisin cookies - What can I say? Ever eaten oatmeal raisin cookies??? Well that is what this smells like! Warm and spicy but not overpowering on the spice. It's a great fragrance if you like food scents like I do :-) This is a very strong scent.
Ocean Mist - This is a wonderful light bathroom scent with fresh, modern, masculine tones. It works beautifully in gel.
Patchouli - This is without a doubt the best patchouli I tested in my hunt for a *true* patchouli. If you want it to smell just like the essential oil then this is it. It is a heavy and heady scent that will take you right back to the 60s.
Pear Glacé - Oh my god this is gorgeous!! This is one of my all time favourites from Cajun Candles and one that will stay on my permanent scent list. I adore this scent and can't recommend it enough. I am totally in love ... this is the most divine pear scent I have ever smelled except it is so much more than "just a pear scent" - it's fantastic!
Pina Colada - What a terrific blend of pineapple and cocout!! I love to drink Pina Colada's (well I did in my heyday before the children anyway!!) and this is a very *very* good match with a great scent throw.
Pineapple - I ordered this after only one test of a sample size! I love it --- a very true pineapple ... it could almost be straight pineapple juice in the bottle! A terrific scent throw and works very well in gel.
Pink Carnation - Smells just like a carnation. This scent is a little heavier than the rose petal, but it is just like sniffing a bunch of carnations!!
Raspberry Ice - This scent is out of this world!!! It isn't a straight raspberry fragrance and I am convinced that I smell an underlying tone of mint in there. As soon as I sniffed it I could tell why it is called raspberry "ice" .... it's phenomenal - definitely one to try!:-))
Rose Petals - Exactly what it says on the label ... this is DEFINITELY rose petals! Very light, floral scent, but you will not believe the power of the scent throw!! LOL. The throw from this scent is awesome - I can burn it upstairs and smell it downstairs!
Sandalwood - A strong deep, musky and woodsy scent that has a very strong scent throw. Another of my customer favourites.
Southern Sunshine - This was very hard to pin down to what is in it - definitely a lemon smell with hints of sherbert. I can just picture bright yellow candles in this fragrance. Very strong smell from the bottle.
Strawberries & Cream - Absolutely gorgeous ... very creamy strawberry scent. Heavier on the cream than the strawberry.
Vanilla Bourbon - This was a hard scent to pin down until Mike told me that someone had said it smelled like playdough! Now I can smell nothing but playdough!!
Vanilla Bake - This is a lovely vanilla - I really like this .. it smells like a creamy vanilla sponge cake. It is very sweet and buttery without losing any of the vanilla scent. I could just eat it!!! it's a lovely warm combination.
Vanilla Cake This is lovely ... it's vanilla with hints of sugar cookies. Very sweet, very strong and very nice!!!
French Vanilla - This is hands down my favourite vanilla scent. It has a great smell from the bottle and as it burns the smell of vanilla ice cream will fill your room. An all time best seller for me.
Other supplies I have tried from Cajun Candles
I stocked up on the majority of my votive molds and wick pins from Cajun - they often run special prices on buying a dozen molds and wick pins together. I buy a large quantity of wick from them and have also tested a sample of the votive wax. As I live in the UK it isn't practical with shipping weight for me to buy wax from overseas but I really enjoyed playing with this blended wax. No additives, simply melt, colour, scent and pour into votive molds! They come out with a creamy opaque surface and burn beautifully.
