General Wax & Candle Co - Review

General Wax are one of *the* main suppliers of wax in the USA. Because I am a UK candlemaker I purchase my waxes in this country to save on shipping fees, so I have not tried the waxes that they stock. BUT the majority of the list members on the email group I run use General Wax for their main wax supplier and I hear nothing but good things about the quality. Cliff from GenWax is an experienced candlemaker himself and he always takes the time to help candlemakers who have questions. This makes him worth his weight in gold as a supplier. Although I have not tried the wax or fragrance oils from Genwax I've had the pleasure of ordering other supplies from them and have always been impressed with the speed and accuracy of my orders. If you order online they have free shipping to 48 US states.

Below are some of the products I have used from Genwax.

Candle Paints - I have been extremely impressed with these paints. My previous experiences of painting on candles were with artists acrylics that burned terribly or poster paints that didn't want to stay on the wax! The paints from genwax are available in a huge range of colours and work very well. I recommend varnishing with a candle safe varnish or dipping in clear wax to protect the paint surface.

Candle Molds - Genwax stock a large selection of candle molds both plastic, metal and novelty for all your needs.

Paraflint - A hardening additive that I have been experimenting with to make wax embeds for gel candles.
